Following the Prime Minister’s announcement concerning local elections, the Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, Richard Livsey MP, has called for a rethink on how the census should be conducted.
“The Prime Minister has recognised the seriousness of Foot & Mouth by postponing the local elections. He should do likewise and make clear his position on the census,” said Mr. Livsey.
“Special provisions must be made for areas infected with Foot & Mouth to be covered by post. Furthermore the deadline to return these postal census forms should be extended.”
